DENTAL IMPLANTS

Dental implants are a highly effective way to replace single or multiple missing teeth. They are also the perfect solution to stabilize loose and ill-fitting dentures. Dental implants are the ‘’gold standard’’ in replacing teeth and have long term proven track records success.

Dental implants may be required for a number of scenarios:

  • Single missing tooth: If you have lost a single tooth then a single implant can be placed in this site to easily replace the tooth. This is an excellent long-term solution to replace a missing tooth.
  • Multiple missing teeth: If you have lost a number of teeth in a certain area of your mouth then these teeth can be replaced by placing multiple implants and individual crowns bridge work.
  • Full mouth rehabilitation: If you have lost all your teeth in one or both arches, it may be possible to replace all of your missing teeth with multiple implants and fixed bridge work.
  • Loose and ill-fitting dentures: People who wear dentures can often find that they are not secure enough to eat and speak comfortably.

HOW SUCCESSFUL ARE DENTAL IMPLANTS?

The success rates usually depend on where the implants are placed. In the lower jaw, the success rate is very high (98%). If you are a smoker then the success rate usually drops by 10%. With such high success rates and with very careful planning and maintenance, dental implants can last up to a lifetime.
